Vijayanagar, Bellary in Karnataka, is the first plant of JSW Cement. Vijayanagar Works has a 150-acre campus and is located next to the JSW Steel complex. The unit receives a sufficient amount of Slag and Fly ash from JSW Steel & JSW Energy, respectively. Vijaynagar is equipped with the latest technology, and 33% of its surrounding area is covered by trees.

Product Portfolio and Capacity

The Plant produces Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), Portland Slag Cement (PSC), Composite Cement (CPC) & Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). It holds a production capacity of 6,00,000 tons. The capacity of the plant was 0.6 MTPA in 2008, which was further enhanced to 3.4 MTPA.

Unique Features

  • The plant uses the latest German Technology supplied by M/s KHD Humbolt Wedag and LOESCHE
  • The company has pioneered a modern plant for the first time in the world that uses finish mode Roller Press Circuit for grinding and manufacturing of both Ordinary Portland Cement and Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag
  • The dust emitted from various types of equipment is controlled by providing state-of-the-art Air Pollution Control accessories such as Baghouse and Bag filters. Nearly 33% area surrounding the Plant has been covered with trees and plants.
  • A WTP – Cooling Water Tower is being maintained for the circulation of water for the entire unit. The major area of domestic water consumption inside the plant is for drinking, washrooms and canteen. Domestic wastewater is treated in STP and treated water is used in Dust Suppression & Green Belt Development.

Markets Served from the Plant
Products from the Vijayanagar works are marketed in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa. It has been delivering high-quality products to several prestigious and large infrastructural projects in the Southern and Western regions of the country.
