Portland Slag Cement (PSC)

Portland slag cement is where JSW's green cement story began, and it remains the benchmark for long-life, sustainable construction. By replacing a portion of clinker with ground granulated blast furnace slag, PSC drives secondary hydration that produces additional strength-giving C-S-H gel, meaning its strength keeps climbing well beyond 28 days, eventually overtaking OPC and PPC concrete of the same grade. This slag-rich chemistry also means fewer thermal and shrinkage cracks, better resistance to chlorides, sulphates and carbonation, and a smoother, more workable finish.

Backed by three patents and proven on landmark projects like the Mumbai port trust, where it withstood chloride and sulphate-laden groundwater, PSC is 456-recommended for coastal and marine-grade durability. It's also a certified low-carbon choice, cutting co2 emissions and energy use by roughly 40% versus ordinary cement, and contributes toward LEED, IGBC and CII Green- Building Certification.
