Moving closer to a circular economy
In collaboration with FEhS, a German research Institute at Duisburg, we are utilising
steel slags like LD slag and EAF slag in cement manufacturing by chemical transformation. Since LD slag &
EAF slag do not have any cementitious behaviour or hydraulic properties as such, a chemical transformation of
these materials are being worked out so it can be transformed into Cementitious materials. The endeavour will
help bring down the carbon footprint and enable natural resource conservation and circular economy through waste
utilisation generated from the steel industry.
We have partnered with ECOMAISTER, Korea to make AOD slag reactive like GGBS or
partially reactive through slag atomisation technique, which can be used in cement manufacturing. This
innovation will be effective in reducing carbon footprint and accelerate our path to circular economy.
In partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, we are developing a
biodegradable polymer, to find an eco-friendly solution to packaging cement.
We are collaborating with the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati to make 3D
printing ink for concrete, using GBS sand and slag cement (PSC). This will result into a new technology
development that has larger benefits and ensure circular economy through waste utilisation.
An Australian company, we are developing Geopolymer concrete since this is a no-clinker
and no-cement concrete, it is the eco-friendly option to go for Carbon Dioxide emission will be nil.
