JSW Cement at the Forefront of Circular Economy Dialogue at the RECEIC Global Symposium

JSW Cement had a strong and visible presence at the RECEIC Global Symposium on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy, held at New Delhi, where the Company was recognised as the 1st Runner-Up in the “Circular Business Models – Matured” category, reflecting the depth, durability, and on-ground impact of its circularity-led business strategies.

The Company participated as a Gold Partner—underscoring its commitment to advancing scalable and mature circular economy solutions.

The event was graced by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, as the Chief Guest, along with senior policymakers including leadership from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)—reinforcing the importance of industry–government collaboration in accelerating India’s circular transition.

Adding to JSW Cement’s leadership presence, Mr. Manoj Kumar Rustagi, Chief Sustainability & Innovation Officer, served as an eminent panellist in a session titled Built Infrastructure: Materials, Policy & Design for Circularity. The session examined the implications of India’s rapid urbanisation and infrastructure expansion on the built environment, at a time when rising demand for cement, steel, and cooling is intensifying the risk of long‑term carbon lock‑in. The discussion focused on how decisions being made today—across material choices, building design, and regulatory frameworks—will determine the sector’s future emissions trajectory. Panelists explored pathways to reduce emissions across the entire building life cycle through the adoption of low‑carbon materials, resource‑efficient design principles, and circular construction practices. Bringing together industry leaders, developers, researchers, and policymakers, the dialogue underscored the importance of coordinated industry action and enabling policy pathways to align infrastructure growth with long‑term climate and resource sustainability goals—supporting India’s transition to a resilient, low‑carbon built environment.

Further strengthening JSW Cement’s presence, Ms. Ketaki Verma, Sustainability Manager, represented the Company in the Circular Economy Spotlight Session, delivering the awardee presentation. She showcased JSW Cement’s circular business model journey, key innovations, and measurable outcomes—positioning the Company’s work within the broader industry and policy discourse.

Together, the recognitions, leadership participation, and knowledge sharing at the symposium reaffirm JSW Cement’s role not just as a practitioner of circular economy principles, but as an active contributor to shaping policy, partnerships, and implementation pathways for India’s circular transition.
